The meadow

Once upon a time, there was a beautiful meadow just the left of the small country town of Canowndra. All of the children every morning of every day would get up get changed and have breakfast before all meeting at the meadow. As the meadow would grow bigger and bigger, the children’s happiness would grow with it. The meadow was growing so big, that after a few years the meadow started to take over the farming land. First of all, the meadow overtook Mr. Brown’s farm. The best supplies of potatoes you’ll ever see! Then, the meadow slowly took over farmer Josie’s crops.” My lovely farm! My beautiful food!” she screamed and shouted as she watches the meadow have its feast! Farm after farm, the meadow managed to gobble up all 6 farms singled weeded! One night at the stroke of midnight, 3 magical goblins appeared by the gigantic meadow. With a twitch of their long, green, pointy noses and a wiggle of their fingers, the meadow shrunk. By morning time two of the farms were free again! Farmer McLachlan and Mr. Vernon were very happy indeed. The children however were not so happy, oh no! They blamed the parents for mowing it up in the middle of the night. But the parents had proof against their theory. The next night at the stroke of midnight, the 3 magical goblins appeared again. With a twitch of their long, green, pointy noses and a wiggle of their fingers the meadow shrunk. This time 3 farms were set free from the farm stealing meadow. When the children woke up and went outside, they got angry with the parents again. So that night, when the moon was high and the parents were fast asleep, the children snuck out side and hid in a bush in Farmer Josie’s field. Once again, at the stroke of midnight, the 3 magical Goblins appeared. The children were speechless! For the third time, with a twitch of their long, green, pointy, noses and a wiggle of their fingers, the meadow shrunk once more. This time though, 4 farms were set to once again be ready to produce. The children were absolutely stunned! So as soon as they got home, even though it was 3 in the morning, they woke up their parents and told them everything that they had seen and experienced. The next day, the children set out and into the woods to search for the 3 magic goblins that they had seen the previous night. They looked high, they looked low. They looked east, they looked west, but the goblins were nowhere to be found! So that night when the moon was high in the sky and the farmers were asleep, the children took their parents over to Mr. Simpsons Farm and hid behind a very big bush. For the last time in a long time, at the stroke of midnight, the 3 magical goblins appeared once again. With a twitch of their long, green, pointy noses and a wiggle of their fingers, the meadow shrunk back to its normal size. The 2nd goblin which was the darkest green of them all; cast a spell on the meadow so that it would never ever grow again. The next morning, the children were playing games in the meadow again; farmers were busy at work and the parents selling the food down at the markets. And as for the goblins, well, that’s another story!
